Auckland is New Zealand’s metropolis and has a wealth of culture, shopping, and museums. Outside the city there are plenty fascinating places to visit, such as the delightful Devonport a short ferry ride away.
The Scottish roots of Dunedin (derived from Edinburgh), are apparent in this town from the current evidence of it’s settlers, to the statue of Scotland’s Bard in the main town square (well, octagon), and striking Larnach Castle, as well as the sweet smell of gorse bushes from the hills. Chinese Gardens, galleries, a chocolate factory, and Victorian Train station also appeal as some of the town’s main attractions.
